Walker's Snowdon death 'mystery'


A helicopter was called out to search for Davinder Kundi



The death of a walker who fell 200ft from a cliff on Snowdon remains a mystery an inquest has heard.
Davinder Kundi 36 died after falling from the cliff near the Pyg and Miners' tracks. He told his wife in Milton aaanes he was going for a long drive.
Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said it was puzzling because there was a clear cliff edge and Mr Kundi should have been aware this was a danger.
The coroner in Caernarfon recorded a narrative verdict.
Mr Pritchard Jones in recording his verdict said Mr Kundi who worked as a manager had "fallen from a height".
He said under previous rules it would have been an open verdict because of the lack of evidence.

The inquest heard how Mr Kundi had been walking on an area of Snowdon which was not commonly used.
John Ellis Roberts a retired head warden of Snowdonia National Park came across the body during a major search for Mr Kundi which also involved a helicopter.
He said: "It's certainly not a recognised route."
Elfyn Jones from Llanberis mountain rescue team described finding a baseball cap near the body and two gloves on the cliff one of them near the top.
The walker's widow Priti Kundi from Milton aaanes said he had told her he was going for a long drive and would be back by 7.30pm that night.
Asked by the coroner whether she thought it was reasonable for him to travel such a long way - about 225 miles (362km) - Mrs Kundi replied that once her husband had driven to Cornwall and back on the same day.
She explained that distance was not an issue with him if he had set his mind on something. Mrs Kundi said they were both keen walkers and sometimes he liked to go out in the fresh air and "do his own thing". A pathologist told the inquest that Mr Kundi would have died instantly from multiple injuries including a broken neck.
